You'll notice that in my previous two replies to the original "test, please ignore..." in the first I left the footer text in the quoted message. In the second, I deleted the stale footer text from the quoted message like a well behaved netizen. In the first case, smartlist did *not* redundantly repeat another extra copy of the footer below the one in the quoted message. In the second case, it *did* append the footer like it's supposed to. I did seem to break the code that adds the footer temporarily, as you can see from my other "testing..." message. No footer. Oops! I need to go buy a copy of UNIX for Dummies, damn it. Poking around in this stuff without knowing what all those tittles and jots do is damn dangerous. And nerve wracking! Be well, all! Mike D.
