If you really want to get freaked out, read some of
the theories (history?) about how the federal reserve
got started, and what it actually does. There is a
film available online: From Freedom to Fascism, that
explains some of it. And Zeitgeist, The Movie also
goes into it. Of course it's all just another
conspiracy theory, so we can safely ignore it.... :-)
