I recall reading how they get the bee venom to use in homeopathic
remedies - I think they were put in a jar, possibly with water, and
shaken a bit to make them angry - then I think the sting goes in the
water. Long time ago, memory failed since then.
After the recent reference, and opening my honey jar to find it full of
ants, I strained the ants out of the honey and put it in a jar, meaning
to label it "ant honey" or some such so I would not get mixed up.
However, I read a caution on using household ants that might have been
exposed to antkiller (they may have called it "Raid".)
This put me off the idea; as there could easily be some antkiller in the
garden where these ants came from. The infestation was dealt with by
continuing to clean up the trails with borax water and also sprinkling
borax once I found where they were coming from. Oh, and I admit I did
spray their access point before I read the bit about raid.
So I think that if I decide to do something with ants some time I will
go out into the bush with a jar smeared with honey, and hope to be able
to get the lid on before they get too cross with me.
Or maybe not. Maybe I would buy what the experts make.

I would agree. This subject caught my interest after Rowena posted on
it. It has been around a long time and I am sure that it was not
originally injected. I intend to try this at some time but now is not
the best time to round up ants for me. My guess is that most all ants
will work but that the ones with the worst bites will work best. Oh, and
I should have added European ants to ones that have been used in the
past.

Another possibility might be to make a homeopathic remedy from the ant
abdomen and use a few drops under the tongue instead of trying an
injection
first. Any licensed homeodoc could make this for you and advise you on
its
use. I would think it may be safer and less likely to stir up trouble.
My
daughter and I do the homeopathic drill daily.
Know this is not CS related but thought this was important enough to
throw
in.
Good Luck,
