For distilling I draw off tap water [which is poor here] in pails and let sit 
for 12 to 24 hrs to let the volatiles bleed off,Even then for good EIS/CS, I 
double distill.
As for cooking utensils, I have been doing very little cooking for a long time 
now as cooked food is dead food,.True , some foods are better cooked lightly 
than raw,ie, steaming..
I use stainless steel and corning ware,or pyrex [old timers],if I do cook.
My diet now is mostly raw fruits and veggies along with juicing with an Omega 
slow speed juicer.
Very happy with the results.
