How was the water quality, as far as purity goes? I find generally that sellers and manufacturers promise the moon but user experience differs from the promised results.
It depended on the quality of the water going IN to be distilled. There is something in the water here that doesn't distill out easily. So at some times of the year, usually in late spring when the river is running very high, I could distill once and the water would be fine. At other times of the year, when the river is low I'd have to double distill to get it pure enough. I may have been lucky. Right now the purchased distilled water is running a bit higher on the meter (about .5 to .6 uS) than I preferred to have it from the home still. But it is making perfectly clear CS. This may indicate that the source of the water that is being distilled and sold here now has changed. What comes out of a distiller depends in part at least on what goes into it, in my experience.
