Hi Katarina;

I have just posted to Vikki about the need to standardize the method of
viewing the laser beam. It is a definite indicator of some property of the CS.
They question is how to quantify it. Since every body has different brew cup
we can eliminate that. I would suggest that the large size test tube which
holds a little over 50 cc would be good.

When I had my swimming pool I would check the visual water quality by looking
down through the collection glass as it had more length to view through. If
you will view your cell from the side and down through the top you should see
a noticeable difference in the beam appearance.

The question now is how we all can build a viewing apparatus to which we can
attach a photocell to actually make a measurement. I suggested to Vikki that
maybe by using a piece of brown paper grocery sack and Elmer's glue we could
make a holder for the test tube. If we made the tube holder about 1/16" to
1/8" wall thickness then we could attach the photocell and a laser holder.

Ok you techies come up with a cheap metering circuit that we can use a dmm as
output.

If you come up with something then I can do the ppm work for calibration.

WE WILL bring this beast under control.

Happy researching,

"Ole Bob"
