That rumor is false. A & H does not add any aluminum to their baking soda. There has been considerable discussion about this topic. It appears there is a chance that some aluminum tools may be used somehow in the processing or something and so it is theoretically possible that their baking powder may have picked up levels of aluminum at trace levels so low as to be undetectable.
But, A & H has been contacted directly and denies the presence of any aluminum compounds. Baking powder is another issue. It is common to have an aluminum compound in baking powder.
