Since Peter Kulish's book is being used for teaching in Japan, I am wondering
is there have been changes in the differing recommendations of authorities
regarding which pole is best to use for most things. Last time I looked into
it, the Japanese were using the pole opposite to the one used in this
hemisphere. I have always wondered if the solar wind effect on the earth's mag
field could have anything to do with this. Its effect is to reverse the way
the 'wind' blows by day and by night. I don't have all that correct I'm sure,
but there are changes that reverse some things-of that I am sure. And solar
wind is involved. pj
