Dave,
I hope you have read a separate post I made with the subject "WHY EIS is
less likely to cause Argyria!". If you read that, you will see that the
most EIS that you should take on a long term daily basis is 3.4 oz of 10
ppm EIS. At 22 ppm that would be around 1.5 oz a day. For the last eight
years you have been exceeding your body's ability to eliminate the
silver you have been ingesting by a significant amount. While I do think
that the taking of niacin has contributed to the problem, I think that
the primary cause of your problem is just the total magnitude of the
silver accumulating in your system over the last eight years.
I am sorry that this information on the limitation on EIS, or any
silver, usage comes far too late to help. But if I were you, I would
take a break from EIS for a period to let your system normalize and then
reduce your usage to 1.5 oz or less per day.
I want to thank you for sharing your experience with the group. I think
it has been worthwhile for us and has, at least in my mind, helped solve
a question that has bothered me for some time.
Thanks (but also regrets),
Steve N

Subject: RE: CS>Silver accumulation evaluation for Dave
I thought that this would be a good case to evaluate for the following
reasons:
** Fairly stable use over the full period should give a good estimate of
EIS taken.
** No apparent major supplement issues except possibly niacin
** Pretty well defined time periods
** Well defined EIS characteristics
I have done this quickly so I hope I have not make errors but it shows
the following
** Total EIS consumed prior to blue moons: 228 gallons @ 22 ppm for a
total of 20 grams of silver
** Total EIS consumed prior to skin discoloring: 365 gallons @ 22 ppm
for a total of 32 grams of silver
Studies on argyria have shown that is normally takes 2 - 3 grams of
silver accumulation to cause argyria. There was one case that occurred
at 1 gm. Also, studies have indicated that only 10% of ingested silver
compounds enter the blood and that only a small percentage of the silver
in the blood remains in the tissues. (One note: the Altman study showed
that 100% of EIS enters the bloodstream. Confirmed by the measurements
showing that nearly all the silver ingested was excreted through the
urine.)
The results for Dave would indicate a MUCH higher rate of silver
accumulation than would be expected. In fact it would indicate that
almost 10% of the total ingested EIS must have been deposited in the
body tissues. Could the niacin account for this?
Is there an error in my calculations?
