Hello Sharlene, Care has to be taken in sizing the packet to be used. However, in general when the shower is running the fan is on and no odor is detectable. I suppose it is possible to linger in the bathroom for an extended period of time after a shower and after the fan has shut off and having the door shut it may be possible to be exposed to a stronger concentration of chlorine dioxide. Usually, this is not an issue.
