DMSO is a great product, however the quality of some of the material being sold is questionable. There is only one company that sells pharma grade material is the US, most of the rest comes from China (or else where). Now this is where is gets sticky, unless the material is USP material there can be impurities in it (they can be anything). Then when the 'maker' here is the US rebottles the 200 gal drums they import, they put the product into PLASTIC bottles that can contain a number of potentially harmful chemicals (e.g. BPA and others). And becuase DMSO is a solvent, it will 'pull' what ever is in the plastic into the product over time, especially with an increase in temp.
If you can find it, buy it in GLASS bottles. And if you want to do some detective work call the manufacturer (who ususlly is only a marketing company, because almost all of them TOLL the product out to a subcontractor) to see if they will supply you with a C of A (cert of analysis). Yeah, seems like a lot of work, but it will be worth it.
