I sometimes put CS straight up in an ultrasonic humidifier.
But generally it's not to disinfect the room so I use rain water off a tin
roof to prevent mineral build up on the transducer and a big dollop of CS
to sterilize that so I'm not breathing whatever was growing in the water.
Who knows what it takes to kill mold etc. "experiment"
I once laid out a design for a chicken farmer in some South of here 3rd
world country so he could mist his chickens to keep them cool and hit them
with CS at the same time to prevent transmission of diseases.
It used a toilet tank and it's water level valve as the generating
container, cistern [rain] water and a couple of car batteries he could swap
around in his truck to keep them charged...all gravity fed.
He already had the misting system in use.

Ah, Ode, you have given me a wonderful idea which relates to CS and
keeps my thread on topic (note to Mike <grin>) we have several rooms
downstairs partitioned off by wire...one housing 2 coons, skunk and
fennec fox, other room rats and Bush Baby (noctournal primate Africa)
and other room with pooches, kitties flirting at times with mild uri,
who go in and out at leisure. with all the spring rains in abundance
this year the area is damp (cement floor still to be tiled, tuit in
the making), i envision mold etc. i wanted a way to clean the air on a
regular basis...something more than the hepa air cleaners. i'll fill
the humidifyer with cs...would you recommend full strength or dilute
which would send it to all the areas, particuallary if i use a fan.
now what could be more lovely than to saturate the air with CS? while
having this beautiful display of colored lights and bubbling bowl (the
units i bought are really quite lovely). ambiance and restoration of
air quality all in one.
this is such a wonderful idea
