I stated below that one should get a laser with a wavelength of 660 nm or higher. I should have said 650 nm. There are studies showing significant pain relief with a 650 nm laser. (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19563196) This is good since most red lasers are at 650 nm. And some higher power ones are available at that frequency. (e.g. http://www.dinodirect.com/ultrafire-red-laser-pointer-100mw-650nm.html) I have seen 650 nm, 5 mw, lasers for pain advertised for $399.00 plus shipping.

The darker the red color the better. If it lists the wavelength of the laser you want it to be 660 nm or higher. Higher is better and should give the redder color. Check out laser prices at www.dealextreme.com or http://www.dinodirect.com/flashlights-lightings-red-lasers-3051Gallery/fct-20mw%2BDino%2B50mw%2DRed%2DLasers/ I have purchased from deal extreme but not dino direct. Quality can be poor at deal extreme so read the user comments for a product before choosing.
