It sounds like you have been pretty busy. And had some good success. The DMSO should definitely increase penetration. I haven't used Germ Control but I have used silver citrate. When you add citric acid to ionic silver you get silver citrate. I make my own silver citrate at 400 ppm strength and then dilute it as needed. If you search the archives for silver citrate you should find info on making your own if that interests you. You might also consider trying a solution of hydrogen peroxide (standard 3%) mixed with 15% glycerine and 10% DMSO. Best of luck, - Steve N ________________________________ From: Teresa Jessee <[email protected]> To: Norton, Steve Sent: Fri Jun 25 00:09:00 2010 Subject: Re: CS>silver and DMSO Steve, Boy, you have a good memory. Yes, I tried soaking their feet in cs a few months back. One horse that had skin fungus around his ankles seemed to respond to it but it came back. One of the barefoot gurus developed a product called Silvetrasol for horse's with foot fungus/thrush. It's has ionic silver and citric acid. He sells it for $16 a bottle and the bottle looks to be about 10 oz. A gal on one of my barefoot lists did some research and found a janitoral product, with the same ingredients but just a little higher silver content. It's called Germ Control made by Odoban. It cost $14 a gallon. We have been using that with much success on 2 of 3 horses. The horse with the ankle fungus has had that for 4 years. We sprayed the Germ Control on his ankles then applied a mix our vet makes that he calls get anything fungus medicine that also has DMSO in it. It cleared up completely. But I think we over did the Germ Control as he now has some red scabs on his ankles. We assume the acid irritated his skin. The fungus was always white scabs. The Germ Control has really cleared up the feet of 2 horses. One seems to have a very deep rooted problem. Her feet look healthy but holes and slits keep opening up. I have dug out all the bad places but some holes go deeper than I dare to cut. I was thinking of mixing Germ Control and DMSO to see if it would penetrate deeper into her feet. Has any one tried Germ Control or have any thoughts on it's use? Did you try colloidal silver a couple months back when you first posted? I would use 20 to 30 percent DMSO. CS does not lose effectiveness over time if made properly. Good luck with your horse. - Steve N ----- Original Message ----- From: Teresa Jessee <[email protected]> To: [email protected] <[email protected]> Sent: Wed Jun 23 20:03:11 2010 Subject: CS>silver and DMSO I want to mix the cs I made (10ppm) with DMSO to treat hoof and heel bulb fungus on my horse.
