It looks like you came up with the right stuff. I assume it was the menthol that caused the cooling. Don't know what the other ingredients could possibly do but it caused an unexpectedly good result. I got mine from an eBay listing. I didn't actually put it in the eye-just in the corner where they itch in the mornings. And that wasn't intentional Dave
