The silver ions themselves can oxidize over time with air exposure.
Reversing polarity doesn't prevent oxide formation, it prevents build up on
the electrodes by reconverting most of the deposits as they are formed.

Thanks, Dee. I am using Ode's Silver Puppy and I thought it had the
reverse polarity.

Thats just silver oxide I think which forms on the rods when the process
is going on. I use reverse polarity which cuts this to a minimum. dee

Hi,
Does anyone know what is landing on the bottom of my CS bottle (inside)?
It was perfectly clean and clear the day I made it but over time it keeps
getting specs of something black on the bottom.
Thanks.
