I'm coming in on this subject late...haven't read every post, sorry if this was
brought up.
Earlier this week I gave a spray bottle filled with Brooks Bradley's EIS lotion
recipe to my boss for her horse that had one of those nasty bites. They
sprayed her 2x per day for a few days and there was huge improvement and very
quick. She and her vet were very impressed!

War Paint from Farnam is a very good fly repellant. One stripe down the nose,
one along the back will keep them off for a week.

Go to a Tac Store where they sell horse & livestock stuff. , they will know
what works in your area. Good Luck

Subject: CS>animals - OT
Hi,
Is there anyone that know of something that will deter biting flies? A
friend's horses are just being tortured this year. After being bitten the
bites swell and bleed. If there are enough bites in an area then the whole
area swells.
Thanks for any help you can give.
