Everything you describe sounds "normal" and "within specs".
Golden is still good.

Your ppm won't be very high. Very high is not needed in most cases.

If it were me, I'd go ahead and try it. I think I'd stipulate that he was on
his own as far as responsibility though. I firmly believe that we each make our
own (informed) choices, and are responsible for ourselves alone.

Ah yes, not too long ago, I bought the "upgrade" of a 20 (that's TWENTY) meg
hard drive for my 386 that replaced my TRS-80 that came with a audio cassette
data storage!
