Now here they are even offering a "superior" "no name" brand as well as a much
cheaper "no name" brand as well as the "named brand" so there is even
"snobbery" between store brands here within the same store!

Yes, a friend of mine worked in a factory where they made 'brand name'
laundry detergent, and also store brand degergent. All the detergent was the
same, from super high priced brand names to the cheap off named store brands.
The only difference was--when they came down the line x number of pounds was
sent to a vat and was given one color and scent and put in a brand box, and
then the next x number of pounds was sent to another vat and given a different
color and scent and put in a store brand box.
I worked in a Personal Products factor where Modess feminine napkins
were made--along with Kmart brand feminine napkins. The napkins came down the
conveyor belt and split at one point. Half went one way and got that little
blue line sprayed on the under side of the napkin, and packaged into Modess
boxes. The other half went the other way, did NOT get the little blue line
sprayed on, and went into a Kmart brand box.
I had women swear to me that they'd tried the Kmart brand and it was
completely inferior in every way to the Modess brand. Lol the only way it was
actually inferior is that it was minus the blue stripe.
Indeed--buyer beware.

Renee

My son worked at a local bottling plant which bottled water for
the local retailers including China Mart. All the water for ever container
came from the same source. Distilled water, spring water, drinking water
different labels on bottles same water. The workers are told not to drink the
water off the line because there is too much chlorination other water
available in the refrigerator where the chlorination was not so strong. Be
ware.
