How good is the water?  [See "water test" using the  generator]
If mineral salts are part of the initial conductivity, the total at the end will include that.

Seeding and heating can eliminate a BIG variable hunk of time at the start.
 Check the water before adding these things to the mix.
If you've done a LOT of seeding, you might be starting half done...end result will be the same, but you've borrowed time from the previous batch and it only "appears" to be doing something faster when current control makes that impossible.
