I'm not sure if this is necessarily true (as far as not taking it internally). I do know that however black salve is used, it should most definitely be used with care, understanding and respect! When I've heard of using it internally it is very miniscule amounts (less than a size of a pea) AND placed within a capsule before swallowing.
