Even if you no longer have a service provider for it? I do have an alarm clock

will get it back out I for some reason thought that you had to have it making 
contact with a tower for it to emit EMF,

Some cell phones emit radiation even when not in use (but still turned on).
Don't know if yours has that feature.
I would not use it as an alarm clock if I were you.
Get a cheap alarm clock from the drugstore, that would be better.
