Hey Sharon -- that's lousy!! I think someone else on the list bought theirs
on line - so you might want to try that. Maybe if they are still around they
can tell you where they got it. Or else maybe you can find another medical
supply store which is not so strict. My husband did have to tell a story
about buying it for me and not knowing who my doctor was.
A nebulizer is a small machine that takes air and pushes it through a
plastic tube and through a small plastic container in which you put liquid
medicines (or cs) and then out into a mouthpeice or face mask in the form of
cool mist. Ours is heavy and the size of a shoebox and I think it is a
compressor -- you can tell I'm not a techie! I assume that some nebulizers
use bottled oxygen as a source and might therefore be more expensive than
this one which just runs on the air in the room. Ours cost $100 - which
sounds like it is about the right price for one of these.

If you or someone in your family is technically minded it appears that you
can build one for less than half the price -- Brooks Bradley has posted the
instructions several times -- maybe someone can repost them for you.

I don't know about the steam inhalers -- I'd be curious to know what boiling
CS does to it. Anyone know?

Hope this helps,
Katarina

Ps - your questions about dog digestive systems compared to humans are quite
interesting - I hope someone knows the answer.
