PT:
Soapnuts are the dried fruits of the soapnut tree somewhat like
"dates" with the flesh being much thinner.Once you boil the "flesh" all
juice is extracted and the residue can be discarded.Like any other boiled
vegetable, it will rot if kept around (moist). You can actually put them in
a blendor (without the seeds) and pulverise the soapnuts . Soak the poweder
in water for a few minutes and use the juice. You have to experiment as to
how much powder to water, depending on your needs. !0 to 15 minutes of
soaking in water will get all the active ingredients into solution. This
solution is used as shampoo or bath soap etc. Dont get it in your eyes, it
will feel like a milder version of pepper spray :-) and tastes bitter .. but
otherwise totally harmless

Good question, Lena. I was wondering that myself. Also, can this be used
to brush your teeth with instead of bar soap? Or would it be too irritating
to the mucus membranes?

I just made a pdf of this recipe! One question: does this use up the soap
nuts in the bag, or can they go on to be used again afterward?

Be well,

Léna

Are you the one who wrote about using soapnuts for shampoo? How does that
work, if you were.
