You can use H202  or Colloidal Silver either one , just add either to the tub 
and stir with a tooth pick or something non metal.
This has been a hot summer and I had several That did that, so
I add a shrink wrap to the lid, but once it is open, you need just do the above 
and it will regain its smooth pliability. Good luck.
