Hi,
For a loved one, seeking to help her with failing kindeys. Does anyone
know of any type of therapy out there or above there that can be used
to clean the blood and support the kidneys - or even regenerate cells?
Also - are there any devices that can be used on the kidney
area/meridian to alleviate pain?
Seeking all good healers out there to help in my quest.
Blessings of good health to all,

Joy, here are some old notes I had, I dont know if the links work
anymore but there are some ideas
Implementation is always the problem....
For starters , it would be a good idea to avoid fluoride ---

Individuals who have kidney disease or other ailments who regularly take
aspirin or acetaminophen may be boosting their risk of developing kidney
failure.
Researchers report that such patients who were regular users -- those
who took these painkillers at least twice a week for 2 months -- were
two to three times more likely to have the beginning stages of chronic
kidney failure, compared with individuals who did not use these
painkillers on a regular basis.

Sodium Bicarbonate Appears To Slow Progression Of Chronic Kidney Disease
The study included 134 patients with advanced CKD and low bicarbonate
levels, also called metabolic acidosis. One group received a small daily
dose
of sodium bicarbonate in tablet form, in addition to their usual care. For
this group, the rate of decline in kidney function was greatly reduced -
about two-thirds slower than in patients. "In fact, in patients taking
sodium
bicarbonate, the rate of decline in kidney function was similar to the
normal age-related decline," says Yaqoob.
Rapid progression of kidney disease occurred in just nine percent of
patients taking sodium bicarbonate, compared to 45 percent of the other
group.
Patients taking sodium bicarbonate were also less likely to develop
end-stage renal disease (ESRD) requiring dialysis.
Patients taking sodium bicarbonate also had improvement in several
measures of nutrition. Although their sodium levels went up, this didn't
lead to
any problems with increased blood pressure.

Purpose
This study will enroll 25 patients with kidney disease to evaluate the
effects of different doses of sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) on levels of
bicarbonate in the blood, kidney function and muscle strength. The
investigators will also evaluate safety and tolerability of different doses.

in preventing many serious complications of prolonged hyperglycemia.

Thiamine 'reverses kidney damage'
Doses of vitamin B1 (thiamine) can reverse early kidney disease in people
with type 2 diabetes, research shows.
A third of the patients in the study saw a return to normal urinary
albumin excretion after being treated with high dose (300mg) thiamine taken
orally each day for 3 months.
The experts say thiamine works by helping protect cells against the
harmful effects of the high blood sugar levels found in diabetes.
Lead researcher Professor Paul Thornalley said: "This is the first study
of its kind and suggests that correcting thiamine deficiency in people with
diabetes with thiamine supplements may provide improved therapy for
early-stage kidney disease."

Diabetes problems 'vitamin link'
There are more than two million people in the UK with diabetes
A simple vitamin deficiency may be the cause of many of the side effects of
diabetes, a study suggests.
The Warwick University team said thiamine helped ward off complications
such as heart disease and eye problems, the Diabetologia journal said.
Researchers found people with the disease expelled thiamine - vitamin B1 -
from their bodies at 15 times the normal rate in a study of 94 people.
The team measured thiamine levels in blood plasma and found concentrations
were 76% lower in people with type 1 diabetes and 75% lower in people with
type 2.

There is also arginine; I do not have all my information
together on this at the moment and need to do this but here is some links
and info to check this. You need to do further research into this but the
info below should get you started. You will also find a couple of good books
on Arginine at amazon. Oh, I have been told that anyone who had an MI,
should not take L-Arginine for at least a year.
This below was sent to me by an friend whom is a diabetic and has
serious kidneys issues
Another possible help for kidneys. Its from Dr. Joe, who is a diabetes
expert and strong advocate of L-Arginine. He has worked with the research
doctors at Stanford and his first mentor was Dr. Kevorkian, who taught him
much about diabetes and about so many other things. Anyway, Dr. Joe has
evidence that taking L-Arginine can reverse cardiovascular problems from
atherosclerosis and because of this same reason, can also reverse kidney
failure.
I have just purchased his book and some of the L-arginine and am taking it
now. According to one of his reports, it should start to reverse the
signs of kidney problems within 6 weeks. Dr. Joe reversed his own
atherosclerosis (very severe) by using this.

L-arginine is the nitric oxide precursor and it must be taken with
co-factors, most importantly with Vitamin D and also with L-citruline.
The dosage
must be at least 5000mg/day.

The L-arginine is also preventing and reversing heart disease which is
also one of the most feared complications of diabetes. Dr. S. is also
starting on it as he has a history of severe heart problems with his
father, as
you might know.
I have found a little cheaper brand of this stuff, seems to have the same
necessary substances in it......

If it was me, I would take over 180mg daily in divided doses of the
Q-Gel [at least 200mg individed doses] , plus also take sodium bicarbonnate
in the correct doses everyday -- but after 2 months would add the
Benfotiamine . If after 4 months I was not seeing the benefits I wanted,
I would
try the arginine. But whatever you try, my impression is that you need to
try it for at least of 4 months.
