Selenium is crucial to antioxidant status and glutathione formation, and when glutathione is low one always sees disease. The USDA says North American adults would benefit by 150 mcg daily, and when we're sick or in the presence of heavy metals including arsenic or silver we usually need more because of the depletion they cause. SO, if some members of the silver group are not taking selenium, they should be.
