Well, I've always heard that there is an antidote growing within x number of feet of pi or po, but I've never seen anything here to antidote the po. No jewel weed, no wild acorn, no nothing in local accounts from natives. Jewel weed doesn't grow here--too hot. We have live oak, which has acorns, but that's it. I wish there was something but I've never run into a native or an herbalist that knows of anything local.
And--granted, last year was one of the worst summers in history here as we had over 60 days of 100 plus temps and of course, no rain--so maybe that is part of the reason or not, but the poison oak is RAMPANT this year! I've never seen it spread so fast, nor be so prolific in growth as this year. Oddly, I've heard others in other parts of the country on different lists say the same thing about po and pi in their part of the country! That both are just growing like crazy and spreading everywhere. I wonder what that's all about?
