That's exactly what I use, Edith, and it works just fine. I take a 1 oz. silver ingot, clamp it in a vise and hacksaw it in half lengthwise, then saw the halves in half. Then I flip it over and saw down to meet the slots I cut and, presto!, 4 electrodes to power two generators. Or, you could just slice one in half to make one generator, but I wanted to make a few for my friends.
