Thanks to all who replied re the oil of oregano for dogs.  My poor boy is so
used to having pills and potions put down his throat that he will probably
be no problem.  Of course, he will mightily appreciate all and any extra
treats as I have found that whatever unpleasant things he has to endure, as
long as I don¹t forget to treat him, then he still loves me!  Bless his
furry feet, he is a super dog. dee

We had an old dog, bless her heart, who got whacked by a car as it was
backing out of our driveway and she was  temporarily paralyzed in her back
legs for a few months.  I was feeding her shark cartilage caps like mad.  I
used to cut slits in raw stew beef pieces, chicken livers etc.  but..like
Smitty said, cheese was the best and easiest.  I was giving Princess so many
shark cartilage caps tho that I couldn't use the cheese for all of them.
