Hi Bob, You could check whether there is an infection , a source or focus of something in your head. My classics are teeth and sinuses but ears have done that too. A tooth cavity or a filling crumbling out of sight could do it.
Symptoms are scratchy dry throat and or nausea on waking, and/or coughing on getting up. These all dissappear soon, leaving me 'feeling groggy and rotten for no reason'. I have found the best shot in the dark is to really clean my mouth at night before retiring and also to do a nasal flush then And nasal flush asap in the morning too. I use a mild, tepid solution of salt and CS or salt bicarb plus CS. I haven't ever used msm but for sure you could add that too.
