That is correct. Baking soda is by definition sodium hydrogen carbonate aka bicarbonate of soda and sodium bicarbonate. It has both chemically and legally a formula of Na2HCO3. If there is anything else in it, then the FDA as well as the FTA would be all over the culprits. Plus it makes no sense to add anything else since bicarb of soda is one of the most inexpensive compounds around, virtually anything else added to it would be more. For instance bicarb of soda goes for around $350 per metric ton ( http://www.alibaba.com/showroom/bulk-bicarbonate-of-soda.html ) or around 6 cents per pound. Aluminum is 93 cents per pound ( http://www.infomine.com/investment/metal-prices/aluminum/ ) or almost 6 times as expensive. So for a company to add something that would get them in legal trouble with the FDA/FTA, make the product not work properly, cost them 6 times as much to produce, and get black listed for having impurities in their product would be incredibly stupid.
