Thanks Donna that is what I thought. I think I will try the nascent
iodine instead and see if it works. I did take iodine occasionally, when I
felt really tired before I was diagnosed by the doctor. It did work too,
but I just didn¹t carry on with it. Maybe I will this time. Thanks again.

You can, but UK docs are just as bad as US ones. I¹m British by the way,
but I¹ve lived in the US for the last 7 years. Go to that site anyway
because there are UK folks that have testimonials on it. You can also join
the Yahoo Group which has a lot more info in there. You¹ll be able to find
out from the Yahoo group what doctors in the UK are willing to prescribe
Naturethroid or Armour Thyroid. There¹s one poor Dr over there that keeps
being pulled up in front of the BMA to answer charges from other doctors
about prescribing Armour etc but he keeps winning the cases because all of
his patients back him up that they feel so much better under his care. I
fear that his luck may run out though because some doctors really have it in
for him.

Most people who are on the Yahoo Group end up self treating. You will be
able to get the medication but you may have to get it from overseas. There
are places that you can get it from without prescription too.

Thank you for this Donna, can you tell me if its possible to get
Naturethyroid in the UK though? I have a feeling that if its on
prescription, I will have a hell of a job persuading my doctor to give me
this. dee

Yep, it¹s Levothyroxine a T4 only medication. You will never get better on
that. They prescribe it on the basis that your body converts the T4 to T3
in your body and it does, but that¹s not all you need. The body naturally
produces T4, T3 (and the body converts more T4 to T3 when it needs it), T2
T1 and Calcitonin. T4 medication does not address the T2, T1 and
calcitonin. No allopathic doctor or endocrinologist will medicate you so
that your symptoms go away. In fact you may be unlucky enough to have to
eventually see the doctor because of depression, weight gain (that you
simply cannot lose regardless of how well you eat and exercise),
sluggishness no energy, all over body aches (fibromyalgia/chronic fatigue
syndrome) all of which you¹ll be medicated for.

I¹ve already posted in another thread about this but if you want to read

I have been tested and found to be low in thyroid and they have put me on
something called thyroxin. Does anyone have any experience with this? Many
thanks. dee
