CS>CS Application question

Hi all.  It has been discussed here, I'm sure -- that administering CS to 
sinuses already inflamed and/or infected can cause great discomfort.  Someone 
posted that adding something directly before application can mitigate that.  I 
think it might have been salt -- does anyone recall?
