I've been using CS on my cats for over 8 years... their water is pure CS. I have 10+ cats 3 had upper respiratory infections... this was about 3 years ago and if it was not for CS their condition would have quickly taken them. My cats fought each other to get the CS; that why I know it worked. I've been using CS for 8+ years and the only thing I get now (very infrequently) is ear infection.
connie I have heard a number of people successfully using CS with cats and dogs. In fact I have heard of them getting over Feline Leukemia using it.
