I learned this the hard way and experienced a peel a few days later, too. Best to mix the DMSO with some aloe gel, to offset this effect. My favorite way to use DMSO is to get 1oz roll-on bottles from eBay and fill with a mix of DMSO, Aloe, and whatever else I want it to deliver. This way, you don't use your hands which must otherwise be carefully washed each time as they can have substances on them you may not want to be carried into the skin (and if any of your ingredients are scarce or expensive, there will be less waste than in using a cloth applicator.)
