I'll tell you what I use. I just bought 2 silver (1 ounce) bullion coins. They are 99.9% pure. I just attach them with an alligator clamp. each time I make CS I alternate the coins. I bought those bullion coins at 20$ on ebay. They are maple leaf. That will last me and my descendants for all our lifetime. there is absolutely no need to use silver wire. It may take a little improvisation to position the coins but you'll find the way. Remember that it cost me 20$ for 30 grams of pure silver. In Canada RBC and TD bank sell silver coins, but you have to pay for the transaction fees, a 20-30% premium above spot price, but ultimately when you do the calculation you will still pay less than most places that specializes in silver wire.
