Hi all,

My general advice is that you use borosilicate glass for brewing that way you
can significantly minimise the effects of anything leeching into the water and
other interactions that may occur.

Peace to all.

Asif.

My understanding is that there is lead crystal which is manufactured with
lead and then there is crystal manufactured without it. I think the
terminology has become less precise over the years so it might be wise to
check.

I've always understood lead is in all crystal glassware, quantity dependant
on manufacturer.

I brewed a batch in a crystal jug years ago and it turned tea coloured in a
very short time. I assumed electrolysis of the silver interacted with the
lead in the crystal? Was always going to repeat the exercise to satisfy
myself one way or tuther, but never have.

I DO know that storing or making colloidal silver in lead crystal is not
advised. L

It depends whether or not lead was used in manufacturing.

does anyone know if it's safe to drink out of crystal glass every day?
Thanks, Jess
