I've had shingles, and treated it myself, but would definitely go to the doc if it's in the eyes, as it can be very serious, even vision-threatening there! Meanwhile, L-Lysine is good for shingles. Also avoid legumes, because even though they have lots of L-lysine, they also have L-argenine, which shingles loves. I now routinely take 1000mg of L-Lysine daily.
