I've stored excess in those jugs at least for a while...but I always gave it to someone within a couple of weeks.

Not necessary to use tinted bottles or keep CS away from light so long as you didn't make it with salt or baking soda which produces the photo sensitive compounds, silver chloride or silver carbonate. [pure silver is not sensitive to light] A [full] narrow neck bottle is preferable to a jar, long term, as it limits the surface area exposed to oxygen. The stronger you've made it, the greater the odds that ions will oxidize to bring the solution down to the solubility limits of the water with less soluble compounds such as silver oxide.

Cold temperatures also reduce the solubility limits of water.
