I take it to mean any bacteria that is crawling around in the bloodstream gets destroyed by whatever mechanism. A clear enough sentence, I believe? Of course none of us KNOW anything at all, given the paucity of "gold standard" double- or triple-blind studies on statistically significant patient populations. We merely have many thousands of "anecdotal" reports of clinical results.
