David, Why do you care about clinical trials, the FDA, etc.? They do NOT establish fact, as you imply. We know for a fact that many clinical trials are falsified, and many, if not most drugs on the market are ineffective or do more damage than harm.
As a society we are in trouble exactly because we blindly trust such things. Corruption is rampant, and obvious, as there is no shortage of law suits, news stories, settlements, etc. that clearly show the falsehood of clinical trials. We are not likely to ever see 'clinical trials' for CS, as there is an enormous systemic problem that would prevent that from ever happening. You would need the cooperation of private enterprise, and there is no way they would want to essentially prove themselves obsolete. As you imply David, and as I agree, the very best CS is that which you make at home. And that undermines the entire medical industry, so you are not going to get any pharmaceutical companies funding clinical trials for such.
