Hi Kathleen,

I used one from Sota Instruments for many years. (A good multipurpose
device, but not the best for CS). And then I found the Silverpuppy.

I have setup over half a dozen family and friends with the Silverpuppy. It
is my personal favorite, as it is the easiest way to make CS in my
experience. I always use it with a thermal stirrer (+$20), as that keeps
the rods cleaner and helps to ensure more uniform quality and ware. I even
built a couple of my own thermal stirrers for a few bucks, but it's not
really worth the trouble for me, so I just buy them. These devices last for
many years, so I find the small investment well worth it.

I had trouble getting people to make their own CS before, but the
silverpuppy makes it so easy. I have a seventy five year old Japanese
mother-in-law that lives in the country without much technology, and even
she uses it. It has improved her diabetes dramatically.

That's my experience.
Victor
