I do not believe that daily CS intake will prevent it. You need to get the CS into the sinus cavity.
I have had success with two methods: 1. Using a nasal spray bottle, and spraying my sinuses with CS many times throughout the day. I breath in while spraying. It is best to have a very fine mist spray bottle. 2. I have done nasal rinses with a Neti pot, using CS. I add some salt and baking soda to balance the ph and salinity, so it is very comfortable. One caution about nasal rinsing is that you can be more susceptible to sinus infections after a rinse, until the mucus lining is fully restored. Thus, I recommend doing both 1 and 2. I haven't had to do anything in quite a while, but I will occasionally spray if I feel any hint of something in my nose. I do not believe that I have had an actual sinus infection in many years. One other note - be sure that you are not simply suffering from an allergy. I never had allergies, and when I suddenly became allergic during pine season, I did not realize it at first. CS works great on any kind of sinus infection, but it can be tricky to reach every part of your sinus with the CS. Good luck.
