I have tried twice to send this as a reply to an earlier post. Doesn't seem
to get posted. My apologies if it is getting through. I am not seeing it
at my end.

Ivan,
Thanks for the graph, looking forward to the next one.
I ran 2 more batches this week-end, one for 1hr and the 2nd
for 2 hrs. With out compensating for the difference in wetted electrode
length(yours 1 3/4, mine 2 1/2) the CS resistance results of the 2 hour run
was 15.13Kohms. This falls in line with your graph for 18ppm. From now on
I will vary the electrode length for better correlation when the final
measurements are read.
The batches were made with the electrode 3/4 inch apart. My 8oz glass is 3
1/4 inches at the top and narrows at the bottom. The electrode are vary
close to the sides of the glass at 1 3/4 inch spacing. This is the only
reason I am looking at different electrode spacing. I like to keep the
electrodes spaced evenly from the sides and each other, 3/4 inch looks good
for this.
Below are this week-ends runs. Although CS conductivity and ppm do not have
a linear relationship I did do some linear calculations(shown at end of
e-mail) using past information. My 2 hr run ppm calculation was 18.66ppm,
again very close to your graph.
Electrode spacing results:
1hr
1/2" [email protected] 12.87K
3/4" .81ma 14.94K
1" .71ma 17.04K
1 1/4" .65ma 18.62K
1 1/2" .59ma 20.51K
1 3/4" .54ma 22.41K
2 hour run
1st hr.
1/2" [email protected] 16.13K
3/4" .63ma 19.21K
1" .53ma 22.83K
1 1/4" .51ma 23.73K
1 1/2" .47ma 25.75K
1 3/4" .40ma 30.25K
2nd hr.
1/2" [email protected] 7.56K
3/4" 1.31ma 9.24K
1" 1.15ma 10.52K
1 1/4" .98ma 12.35K
1 1/2" .87ma 13.91K
1 3/4" .80ma 15.13K
Calculations:
From Ivans Data base:
12 - 15ppm @ 1 3/4" electrode spacing
20Kohms/12ppm = 1.67Kohms/ppm
20Kohms/15ppm = 1.33Kohms/ppm
>From the above data calculate the ppm?
1hr run: 12ppm + (20K - 22.41K)/1.67K/ppm = CS sol's ppm
12ppm + (-2.41/1.67K/ppm)=
12ppm - 1.44ppm = 10.55 ppm
15ppm + (20K - 22.41K)/1.33K/ppm = CS sol's ppm
15ppm + (-2.41/1.33K/ppm) =
15ppm - 1.81ppm = 13.18ppm
The ppm for this run is between 10.55 and 13.18ppm
2hr run: 12ppm + (20K -15.13K)/1.67K/ppm =
12ppm + 4.87K/1.67K/ppm =
12ppm + 2.92ppm = 14.92ppm
15ppm + (20K -15.13K)/1.33K/ppm =
15ppm + 4.87K/1.33K/ppm =
15ppm + 3.66ppm = 18.66ppm
The ppm for this run is between 14.92 and 18.66ppm
Thanks for the graph
