The original question was "does anyone have any experience with handheld lasers?" As this was being asked in a forum devoted to alternative health subjects, I assumed that it was an inquiry about the laser is used for low-level laser therapy in many clinics. These are uniformly 635 nm wavelength five mW lasers. All lasers must be accompanied by an FDA sticker designating the wavelength and the power. In the case of these, the wavelength is 635 nm, and the power is limited to 5 mW. I began importing the very highest quality laser pointers available almost 20 years ago. At that time the best of the red laser pointers was a 650 nm. My supplier asked me to try a 635 nm laser diode in the same case as a 650. I noticed that it the 635 nm was more pleasing and more visible than the 650 by a noticeable amount. It would seem that a mere 15 nm difference in wavelength would not make that much difference, but in fact, it does. I started carrying them for my lecturers, and they prove popular for those who could afford the extra cost. I noticed that I began selling them in multiple qualities to people who said they were using them for health purposes. It was these customers that sent me photographs of the FDA stickers on low-level laser therapy which were identical to the stickers on my pointers. They were the same lasers. I have absolutely no idea as to their value therapeutically. All I can say is that there is no difference between the laser in one of these laser pointers than in a low-level laser therapy machine costing up to $20,000.

Obviously you can't be speaking about the colour, what are you referring to? The wavelength range between both 635 and 650 is in the red range. Perhaps I've missed the original question in my emails? They are available only from Atlasnova. I've been researching them and find it a daunting task to say the least! The ideal would be one with a wide range of application., if the power is adjustable. Thanks, Sally
