Basic explanation: Silver nano-particles AgNP destroy the protective shield (shell, coating, knobs) of the virus by oxidation.
The AgNP physically absorbs and carries oxygen within its silver atom matrix, activates the oxygen in the process, and discharges the activated oxygen on pathogens, which inactivates (oxidizes) the pathogen forthwith. This is a very selective reaction affecting abnormal cells only.
