I am very tired of the negativity on this list, generated on purpose by trolls.
I had put all posts from "Cyndiann" into my spam filter, but that doesn't
filter out all the responses TO "Cyndiann." If everyone simply ignored these
trolls, they would lose their power to provoke. However, it doesn't seem that
this is going to happen.
Tony had set up the Silver List on the groups.io platform. Here's the link:

The home page says, "Waiting for Mike Devour [who originally started the Eskimo
silver group] to agree to this move to https://groups.io/g/silverlist, and to
give permissions to Eskimo to send email lists to this group." However, anyone
who has tried to contact Mike in the past few years knows how difficult that
has been. Also, when we *have* succeeded in getting hold of Mike, he has
admitted that he doesn't want to relinquish his hold on this group--even though
he has even stated that he no longer has any interest in running the group or
even participating in it! WTF??? From where I sit, you can't have it both ways.
I don't think it's practical or reasonable for us all to wait around for
someone else to move this group. Since Mike clearly isn't interested, what do
you all say that WE TAKE CHARGE OF OURSELVES for a change? We are intelligent
and autonomous enough to use CS. Why not apply that to community-building too?
What this means is: JOIN THE NEW LIST. True, we won't have the old Eskimo list
archives--but hey, we can always build a NEW Files section!
ANYONE can join this new Silver List on group io. However, that's NOT a
problem. The difference between the new Groups.io and the current Eskimo list
is: ANYONE WHO IS A TROLL CAN BE BOOTED OFF THE NEW LIST. We don't have that
capability now on Eskimo (because absentee Mike still owns the list)--but Tony
and I own the new list. So we CAN boot off "Cyndiann" and whoever else is
making life miserable for others.
