I found the book.

The Green Pharmacy, by James A. Duke, Ph.D.
It's a little paperback, cheap enough to get and also a current edition so at
the stores.

Macular degeneration: (this is pages long, so I will just list the herbs to
use)
Bilberry
eat collard greens
ginkgo biloba
peanuts, legumes, soybeans (eek)
cloves
wolfberry
Of course, the details of why are in the book and it's too much to type all
those pages, so forgive me.

Tinnitus:
gingko biloba is highly suggested
sesame seeds in the diet any which way you can
black cohosh
goldenseal
lesser periwinkle
spinach
NOTE: herbs to avoid for tinnitus are: aspirin or aspirin-like herbs.
willowbark, meadowsweet and wintergreen, cinchona, blackhaw and uva ursi.
The aspirin can cause tinnitus symptoms.

Hope that helps.
This book is really great, btw.

Diane.....oh....I just noticed the section on Lyme disease, too. This writer
says they used the doxy w/herbs. Echinacea, LOTS of garlic, (5 - 15 cloves a
day).
Mountain mint: crush the leaves and rub it on your legs...(etc)...it is
tick/bug repelling. It has a "juice" it with active ingredient called
pulegone.
Also, take licorice.
