I think that one needs to be careful, and if the pain is too much to lessen the time of the magnet therapy along with drinking extra water. Then according to how that effects the body, go from there. I am not doubting that for some people the effects may be too much, but perhaps some experimenting with the conditions of the therapy within sensible limits could be advisable. When I first started magnetic therapy, my pain did increase, but later it decreased. That was my experience.
